Supporting Future Gardeners
The Old York Garden Club raises funds regularly to support this scholarship award. The recipient will be that student demonstrating outstanding achievement and promise in any of the allied plant sciences including, but not limited to:
botany, conservation, ecology, environmental studies, forestry, horticulture, landscape design, or sustainable agriculture.
The scholarship is in memory of Marion Prince Hosmer and will be a $2,700 award for the 2025 recipient, which will be paid directly to your academic institution in your name.

Eligibility
The applicant must:
- Be a legal Maine resident
- Be a full-time student majoring in any of the allied plant sciences or related degree programs
- Have completed at least one full year of study at an institute of higher learning in the State of Maine or at the University of New Hampshire

Once you have submitted your application, you will get an email that it has been received by the Old York Garden Club. Please reply to that email with a PDF copy of your transcript.

Step 3: Ask two people to be a reference (one professional or academic and one personal) and have them submit a letter of recommendation for you by April 30, 2025 using the form here: scholarship reference form
